Homer and the sofa

I think there must be an easier way to get onto this sofa, but I can't remember how to do it.

I remembered! I love snoozing away on here, especially when there is a comfy person on here too.

Homer and chums

I'm still really enjoying going out for walks down the valley. Some afternoons have been quite bright and with the autumn leaves it all looks nice. I've been chasing balls and playing with my new frisbee, which I like to put in the river so my dad has to wade in and get it out. I've also been meeting up with some old friends and making some new ones too.

Homer's favourites of the week

This week I've been loving chasing tennis balls down the valley. I especially love it when I can get my teeth into them and chomp them up. The weather hasn't been very good, but I still like to go out. The river was very full after all the rain, so it was great fun to charge along through the water.

On TV I watched The secret life of dogs, which was quite entertaining. When I'm home alone I either look out of the window, to see if they are coming back, or I snuggle up in my bed and go to sleep.

Something I haven't been loving this week is being shut out of the living room. Luckily, that happens very rarely, but when it does I like to chew on the door, which I'm told is really naughty, but I still do it.

Homer's friend

I've been loving long walks this week in the autumn leaves. It's fun to share a stick with a friend.

Homer's favourite things of the week

I have a few favourite things for this week . The first is my tennis ball that I found down the valley . I'm still finding it amusing to put that under the sofa . I've also been liking my twisted rope ball, as I've managed to get my teeth into that now and am enjoying ripping it up . My favourite TV programme has been "The wonder of dogs".  I liked it when they put that blanket over the dogs' heads and some of them couldn't find their way out - heh, heh, that was good fun .

My favourite dinner of the week has been my food with tripe in it . Here is a picture of the face I make when I'm waiting for them to get my dinner ready .

Where's my dinner?

Homer's ball

This is me when I was really little and I didn't understand the concept of playing. Now I love all my toys, especially my big yellow kong. I also love footballs and tennis balls. The best bit is when they go under the television stand or under the sofa and everyone gets annoyed because I make them get them out for me. Sometimes I put them under there on purpose.

This is me at the pub. Everyone was watching football, and it was a bit boring.

Homer's arrival

This is me when I first arrived at my new house. I had been on a really long journey from London, so I was a bit tired. I have a big frowny head because I wasn't too sure about what was going on, but I soon settled in. I loved my new toys and blankets and my little house in the kitchen.

Homer's girlfriend

I think I am quite rare in England, although there is another like me, but a female, that lives around the corner.  This is what she looks like:

Homer's pond

In my back garden there is a pond that belongs to me. I like to sit beside it and look out for cats and birds. I have to be careful with my toys, because sometimes they disappear into it and are never seen again (like my big yellow kong).

Homer's introduction

My name is Homer. Most people I meet think that I am a Bull Mastiff, but they are all wrong! I am 18 months old and I am a Boerboel. This is a breed that is originally from South Africa but I was born near London, and now I live in Cheshire. I am also known as a South African Mastiff. I was bred to be a farmer's dog and to guard the homestead. I love people, so I don't bark at them, but I hate birds and I detest cats, so if I see any I love to bark and chase them away from my house.

This is a picture of me when I was really quite little. I don't remember why I had such a sad face!
